Mets top prospect Fernando Martinez singled in his first at-bat in the Minor League Futures Game at Yankee Stadium.
F-Mart played for the World team, which went on to win the game by a score of 3-0.
I have a sneaking suspicion Martinez will be sporting a Mets uniform before Shea Stadium closes. It might be a September callup, or even an injury replacement in the next month and a half, but I think his personal prophecy will be fulfilled in 2008.
