Lastings...pack your bags, youre coming with us...

Cliff Floyd just re-injured his achillies heel rounding third base in the 3rd inning...

...he looked like he was in alllllot of pain. he looks like he is done for the year...

...my guess is Lastings Milledge will be called up, if we move on to the NLCS...

Say What??

From CBS Sportsline Mets team report...

"--This is the Mets' fifth trip to the playoffs. They reached the World Series in each of the previous four."

...um...No.

did '88 and '99 get wiped from the record books?
...did those years just disappear?

i wouldnt mind that...but still...

someone should be fired for that too...

Nomar Questionable for Game 3

Nomar Garciaparra status for Game 3 is unknown.

Nomar left Game 2 in the 6th inning after aggrivating one of his two injuries (oblique and quad.)

...if you saw the game, you saw how gingerly he ran down to first when he grounded out to Valentin in the 6th, so im guessing it was more the quad then the oblique...

Mets up 2-0! so happy.

AP Recap.

Ohhh yesss...
what a solid solid game.
i had no doubts, and wasnt even close to nervous at the end.

Glavine pitched amazing. Just a solid game.
awesome awesome awesome...
this is the stuff you build on, and get on a roll.

i seriously thought Cliff's looong fly ball in the 4th was gone...long gone...
i thought it was gonna smash off that budwieser sign...stupid wind.

Im just soo happy right now. im ecstatic.

off to LA Trax vs. Maddux.
this should be super interesting.
and slow.

Was he watching the same game??

I'll start you off with a quote from Wallace Matthew's column...

"It took Willie Randolph 12 years to manage his first playoff game, and a little over two hours to nearly manage his team out of it.

In his first postseason game as a manager after 47 as a player, Randolph seemed as geeked up as any of his players. Vying for Micromanager of the Year, an award thought to have been retired around here with the departure of Bobby Valentine, Randolph yanked one pitcher too soon and stayed with another too long. He played it safe when he should have gambled, and gambled when he should have played it safe. Working with a shortage of quality starters for the playoff run, Randolph found a way to use half his staff in Game 1. Somehow, he managed to get outmanaged by Grady Little."

...im sorry, i dont think we were watching the same game...? i saw a manager pull a rookie pitcher in his first playoff start while he was still ahead of the game, to possibly be used in game 4 (or long relief of Wild Thing Perez)...

...i saw a manager rely on his bullpen, which has been oh-so-good this year...
...this is the same manager who would leave in pitchers too long at the beggining of the season, remember? but he has changed, learned, and he had to adapt quickly to this new situation with 2 starters out...

...im sorry sir, but you are dead wrong...what you saw was great managing, its too bad you missed it...

My goodness...Oliver Game 4?!

John Delcos reports that the Mets will go with Steve Trachsel for Game 3...and Oliver Perez Game 4...

...now this doesn't make alot of sense to me...i do not have alot of trust in Perez. i would rather pitcher John Maine on short rest. remember he only pitched 4 1/3 today...
...i would just feel allllot more comfertable with Maine at the helm instead of Wild Thing...

ohhh baby!

Whooooooo!
Game 1 Mets 6 -- Dodgers 5

What a game from Carlos Delgado!!
4-5, with that HUUGE bomb!! wow...that was Piazza-esque...

John Maine...again, you da man!! see you Game 4??

Valentin...bad desicion...but i cant fault you. youve been too good for me to be mad at you...

Wagner...you scared me...as usual you pulled it out...phew.

All around..good game...just what i imagined from the Mets.
Great pitching changes from Willie...
it couldve been 6-1...but hey...a win is a win...

Great recap on Mets Blog

Where is Sidd Finch when we need him??

If only...

Deadspin has an article about how badly we need Sidd Finch right now...

...boy, that would be nice, wouldnt it?...

Some Humor found in the Disaster called El Duque's Calf...

a fairly funny story from Newsday

Hernandez laughed. "A Yankee would have had his MRI already," he joked.

...this actually brought a smile to my face, which is a must read for any mets fan right now...as we are all a mess...

Update

No El Duque in the NLDS...

He has a tear in his calf and may not be able to go at all in the playoffs...

...crap...

Royce Ring will take his place on the roster...

Game 1: Maine
Game 2: Glavine
Game 3: Trachsel
